About PsiLot for PSion Series 5 Copyright 1998 Ian Sayers All Rights Reserved. PsiLot is intended to provide an efficient and FUN means of maintaining, checking and creating UK Lottery data. The current version provides for the input of User Names and their selections, Updating of lottery data (all the previous draw data is also provided) and, most importantly, the checking of user selections against the lottery data. In addition the software also provides for the generation of printed copies of any of the user data directly from the program. Using this software prevents the headache of misplaced Tickets (the original Ticket is required to make any claim so do not lose it!) and a fun means to check whether or not you have won. I have also included a time limit on the beta version of 31 May 1998, just to make sure there are not too many beta versions to support! I have to make sure you will come back for the full version. After this date I should have the finished version available for those that still want it (it depends on how much work I have on before then). If you are interested I have also produced a Windows 95 version of the package called WinLot. The database files of PsiLot and WinLot can be swapped using the built in tools of PsiLot. So you can transfer files between the two packages. If you want more information on the Windows version, please let me know. If you have any suggestions for improvements, bug reports or additional features please let me know. I may not respond immediately, but I will try to get back to you. Setting up After unzipping all the files copy the first six files (i.e. not the txt files) to a directory called c:\system\apps\psilot. The PsiLot icon should then appear in the extras box. Tapping on the icon will launch the prorgram. If the lottery data is over 10 days old the program will issue a warning. On running the first time you will have to create at least a single user. Please read the help file for further information. This is a shareware program that has no restrictions or "Nag Screens" so relies on the honour system. If you do register then Thank You for your support. If you win the lottery then remember me :-) If you continue to use this software for longer than 1 month without registering then shame on you! To Register First go to the About menu item and display the about text. If this is an unregistered copy then a "Register?" button will be displayed. Use this button to display the Unique Machine ID of your Psion Series 5. You will need this when asking for the registration key. You will also need to supply a registration name (max 15 chars). When the key is returned go back to this screen again and enter the registration name and key, the software should now be registered. To check go back to the About dialog it should now show the registration name, instead of "Unregistered Copy". The registration includes free upgrades as and when they are generated. It also includes the full release version. If you have to change you Psion Series 5 then you will need a new key. New keys for those having problems with their Psion Series 5 are FREE for the first 5 new keys. So if you do change to a different machine and it is registered software then please use the software for a while on your new machine before requesting a new key. Just to make sure the new machine is operational! I have had two new Psion Series 5s!
