Licence agreement INTRODUCTION ------------ CodeCheck is a useful tool for anybody who is concerned about being ripped off by unscrupulous companies, or for anyone who runs a small business. You can use it to perform a number of handy finance-related tasks, including: CREDIT CARDS: Check whether a credit card number is valid. MOBILE PHONES: Find out what network a mobile phone uses. VAT NUMBERS: Test the validity of VAT registration numbers. You can record the results of these tests in an optional log file for future reference. INSTALLATION ------------ CodeCheck should run on all Epoc-based palmtop computers, like the Psion S5, 5mx, Revo, S7, and so forth. To install the program simply double-click on the CODECHECK.SIS icon, or select the "Install New Program" option in PsiSwin. Run the program by selecting its icon from the 'Extras' bar. HOW TO REGISTER --------------- CodeCheck is shareware, not free software. The registration fee is £7 or US$10 per user. Registering will remove the nag screens and give you full access to the program. CREDIT CARDS: You can register on-line using your credit card. This involves an extra US$5 handling charge, bringing the total fee to US$15. POSTAL REGISTRATIONS: Please send the registration fee to the address shown below. UK cheques & postal orders are fine, and should be made payable to 'Richard Smedley'. Please do not send foreign cheques, since we can't accept them! Alternatively you can send the appropriate amount in cash (bank notes only). Notice to users: Carefully read the following legal agreement. Use of the software provided with this agreement (the "SOFTWARE") constitutes your acceptance of these terms. If you do not agree to the terms of this agreement, promptly remove the SOFTWARE together with all copies from your computer. User's use of this SOFTWARE is conditional upon compliance by user with the terms of this agreement. END USER LICENCE AGREEMENT The software is protected by copyright law and international treaty provisions. You acknowledge that no title to the intellectual property in the software is transferred to you. You further acknowledge that title and full ownership rights to the software will remain the exclusive property of Richard Smedley, and you will not acquire any rights to the software except as expressly set forth in this licence. You agree that any copies of the software will contain the same proprietary notices which appear on and in the software. GRANT OF LICENCE This Richard Smedley Licence Agreement ("Licence") permits you to use one copy of the Richard Smedley product downloaded, which may include user documentation provided in electronic form ("SOFTWARE"). The SOFTWARE is licensed to a single user. The SOFTWARE or its component parts may not be separated for use by more than one user at any one time. However, you may install the SOFTWARE on more than one computer, provided it is solely for the use of the licensee. REVERSE ENGINEERING You agree that you will not attempt to reverse compile, modify, translate, or disassemble the software in whole or in part. DISTRIBUTION Webmasters, platform manufacturers, dealers, distributors, agents, publishers or any other third party are permitted to copy or distribute the SOFTWARE, provided it remains in the same format as the product available from the Richard Smedley Web Site. It is NOT permitted to copy or distribute any of the component parts of the SOFTWARE. Establishing an Internet link to the Richard Smedley web site is permitted, and is encouraged, in order to facilitate access to the SOFTWARE. COPYRIGHT The SOFTWARE (including any images and text incorporated into the product) is owned by Richard Smedley and is protected by copyright laws and international treaty provisions. LIMITED WARRANTY To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Richard Smedley disclaims all warranties, either expressed or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. In no event shall Richard Smedley or its suppliers be liable for any damages whatsoever (including, without limitation, damages for loss of business profits, business interruption, loss of business information,or other pecuniary loss) arising out of the use or inability to use this Richard Smedley product.
