Readme.txt Company Accounting 2.8.2 for the Psion Series 5, 5mx, Revo etc (C) Pythia Information & PocketIQ 1997-2000 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------ Released as shareware. Organizes your company's financial elements and generates language independent invoices, rough cash-books and annual accounts. Installation: ------------ OBS! If you are upgrading from a previous version please follow the upgrade section. Installation from SIS file: 1) Execute the Company.sis file on your pc or Psion. 2) Choose C or D drive for the installation (make sure that there is enought disk space). 3) The program will install itself. Installation from ZIP file: 1) Make sure the \System folder is shown on your Series 5 system screen. If it is not, enable it in the 'Preferences' dialogue 2) Using PsiWin copy the files PYTHIA.OPO, PIQInfo.OPO, PIQInfo.RSC and PIQInfo.MBM to the folder \system\opl (you might have to create the folder) 3) Copy sysram1.opx, systinfo.opx to the folder \system\opx (you might have to create the folder) 4) Go into \System\Apps on C: or D: and make a new folder called "Company" 5) Using PsiWin, copy all the remaining files to the new \System\Apps\Company folder 6) A new icon will appear on your Extras bar Problems -------- 1. Read only files Some times files become read only while being installed. None of the files should be read only. If you get any errors like the program is unable to write information to your Psion go through the program files to see if some of them are read only. In the system-view you can open the file property window by selecting (highlighting) a file and pressing Ctrl-P. In the property window you can see and set/clear the read only checkbox. 2. Copying between C and D Be very careful when you move or copy applications between the C and D drives. It seems that the Psion is not correctly updated when applicaions are copied from C to D or vice versa. Always delete the application directory from one drive before reinstalling on the other drive. Upgrade: -------- When upgrading from a previous version of Invoice Manager do not overwrite the file "Invoice.dbf". This file contains all your registered invoice information. When upgrading from a version 1.4 or lower the "Invoice.dbf" file will be upgraded to version 2.0 making it unusable with previous versions of the program. To upgrade the Invoice.dbf file from version 2.0 to version 2.2 please execute the IMUPG22.OPO file. You can place it anywhere on your Psion and delete it after use. To upgrade the Invoice.dbf file from version 2.2 to version 2.3 please execute the IMUPG23.OPO file. You can place it anywhere on your Psion and delete it after use. To upgrade from Invoice Manager 2.4 to Company Accounting 2.5 just install Company Accounting. The first time your run the program it will copy the necessary information from your Invoice Manager installation. After that you can delete the \system\apps\invoice folder. Usage: ------ 1) Press Ctrl+Shift+H to see help file. 2) Download the detailed "Company Accounting On The Run" document from the PocketIQ home page (http://www.PocketIQ.com). This is of interest to people who want to print invoices via screen dumps instead of the generated HTML invoices. 1999.04.11: Version 2.5.2 - The HTML generators now launches the generated invoices, cash-books and annual account in the Message Suite Web Browser for viewing. - The generated HTML for cash-books and annual accounts now comes out in a smaller font.
