ftp client for EPOC32 Details This is a command line implementation of an ftp client similar to that found on Windows, Unix and most other operating systems. It is supported for EPOC32 release 5 machines (e.g. 5mx, Revo, 7). It implements the following commands: bye, close, cd, delete, dir (ls), get, help, lcd, ldir, mkdir, open, put, pwd, quit, rename, rmdir, user, verbose. The program uses occupies only about 30Kbytes and needs about 250Kbytes when running. The registered version has the facility to execute a sequence of commands from a batch file. This is useful for automating logins and frequently used file transfers. Registered users also receive free updates and bug fixes. If you continue to use ftp you must register. Registration Orders (http://www.reg.net/product.asp?ID=9818) using a credit card are accepted via the RegNet service (US$10, about 7 UK pounds). A receipt can be provided. Installation Unzip the ftp.zip file. There are two installation files: ftp.sis and ftpW.sis. The latter is for use with the Windows emulator. Connect your Psion to your PC using PsiWin. On your PC, double click on the ftp.sis file. This starts the installation. Psion 7 users should copy the ftp.sis file to the Psion and then run the installation. It is strongly recommended that you install to the C disk as installing to a CF disk may result in performance problems when putting or getting large files. Getting started Start ftp by selecting the ftp icon from the extras bar. To connect to a server use the "open" command and supply the server name as the argument. Enter a username and password with the "user" command. Anonymous servers usually use "anonymous" as the username and your email address as the password. Don't forget to use "\" to delimit Psion folders and "/" for Unix directories on remote servers.
