The formula was attained when I was leasing my last automobile and should cover 90% of all leases. And as you will see, sometimes it doesn't pay to lease a "cheaper" automobile. The residual value of the higher end manufacturers, BMW, Mercedes, Rover, etc is significantly higher at the end of the lease. The higher residual value can sometimes make the payment of a BMW equal to that of a lesser priced Ford or GM. Residual value is determined by the manufacturer and is based upon the length of the lease term (how much percentage is the auto worth after a period of time),,, most vehicles are less than 50% after three years. Rate Factor is a lease variable set by the manufacturer depending upon specials or incentives they may have be offering State taxes change from state to state, please verify with your dealer for specifics. State usage taxes are also state specific and are very uncommon, please verify with your dealer if your home state requires usage taxes. Install Automobile Lease: - Copy "carlease.opa" to the \APP\ directory on any drive on the 3a - Install "carlease.opa" using Psion-I from the System screen. - carlease will create CARLEASE.INI in M:\OPD Some Help: - Percentage rates are entered in as normally stated.
